Wig Care

For optimal use and to ensure the longevity of your hair, we recommend that you care for your extensions and wigs like your real hair. It is of utmost importance to wash your hair, wig, bundles, frontal and closures regularly. Below are some simple guidelines.

Guidelines

  1. Comb the hair preferably before washing and use lukewarm to warm water if possible.
  2. Gently rinse your hair extensions until saturated.
  3. Apply a generous amount of shampoo to the hair. While holding the weft at the base, shampoo gently in a downward motion, working the shampoo from top to bottom.
  4. Rinse thoroughly and (deep)condition the hair in the same direction, giving it some time to soak in.
  5. Use a good (leave-in) conditioner to keep your hair soft. For curly textures, we recommend using products that are compatible with the latter. For straight and bone straight hair extensions, we recommend using products that contain silk, lightweight serums and anti-frizz products.
  6. Do not use too many styling products as this will cause build up over time. Build up leaves your hair dry and can cause tangling. Use moisturizing products to prevent this and wash your extensions regularly.
  7. Heat is your hair’s worst enemy in most cases. The more you use it, the shorter the longevity of your hair, so use heat in moderation. Do not use very high temperatures as this can damage the hair and permanently change the hair texture.

Wig Care

It is important to treat your hair extensions and wigs with the utmost care and that requires some effort and willingness. To maintain the quality and longevity of your hair extensions wash, condition and moisturize your hair regularly. Be sure to let your hair extensions and wigs dry properly after each wash to avoid fungal related problems.

How to moisturise your hair extensions like a pro:

Conditioning and moisturizing your hair can sometimes be such a headache, but nothing to worry about. We have a few tips that should help you:

  1. Squirt some products into your hands and rub your hands together. Be sure to apply these moisturizers with your hands and fingers spread apart. Sometimes it is better to use your fingers than a brush because you can gently detangle the hair without damaging it. Never forget to move your fingers from top to bottom.
  2. If you do want to use a brush to condition or moisturize your wig, we recommend using a wide comb or paddle brush. Start at the ends and slowly work toward the root to prevent hair breakage due to tangles. Brush gently and evenly until you have worked all the way up. Do not brush too hard in this process as it may damage the natural pattern of your extensions.
  3. If you tend to use heat when styling your hair extensions, make sure you use a heat protector because heat damages your hair’s protective cuticle layer and causes split ends and dry hair.
